Welcome to Gillespie Youth Church

Purpose statement
“To bring young people to Jesus through fellowship, develop them through discipleship, to equip them for their ministry in the church and life mission in the world, and to glorify God’s name through worship”

GYC divides into six sections depending on age and school year as shown:
*See Focus Group page here
for special events*
Leaders in each group have all undergone Disclosure Scotland Checks. They work on a rota system to allow everyone to participate in church worship. This means that children will not have the same leaders every week. Each group has a Named Contact who will always be willing to discuss any questions or concerns.
Crèche
Catering for 0-2 year olds, the crèche meets in its own bright room with lots of toys and caring helpers.
Bubbles
Our 2- 3 year olds still focus on play but enjoy coming together for a snack and a Bible story with the option to do some related craft work.
King’s Kids
This group for 4-year-olds and those in Primary 1 uses Scripture Union materials to learn about Jesus in a fun and relevant way.
Seekers
Children in Primaries 2 – 4 love exploring the Bible in new and inventive ways in Seekers.
Adventurers
Primary 5 –7 kids have loads of fun finding out how Jesus fits into their lives. Several children in this group play in our Junior Youth Band.
Remember your Bible!
Focus
S1 – S3 youngsters meet during the church service, working out their own programme with adult supervision. S4 – S6 enjoy meeting in each other’s homes for bible study and chat on Sunday evenings.
