Monday 5th December - Christmas has definitely come to the Well.  This Monday we made Christmas cards and put the tree up.  Santa hats were compulsory and there was some enthusiastic practising for the carol singing in a couple of weeks.

Tuesday 29th Nov - Quiet lunchtime because it was pouring with rain (girls don’t do wet hair!), which was just as well because volunteers were short on the ground today ... just me and the joiner AND 10 boys!

(Have you thought about coming up? You know you want to join in the fun next week!).

Monday 28th Nov - Busy night again, games and card making..not forgetting home made girdle scones (well done Linda!) haven't had a girdle scone for ages... Yummy

Newsflash - we were so proud of some of the girls

who attended the first Surgery held at the Well by

Councillor Bill McCulloch, raising concern about their

play park.

Thank you so much to Councillor McCulloch who has

taken time to write back (Laura was over the moon to

receive her first ever letter!!).

Latest update (no promises but..) Councillor

McCulloch will meet a group of children at the Well

on Thursday to discuss ideas with a representative

from the parks department.  Will keep you posted.

Monday 21st Nov - an increase in numbers this week with several new faces joining the fun. The place was buzzing with crafts, construction and a VERY noisy game of charades.

Monday 14th Nov - the baking continues! delicious fairy cakes without an oven. Jenny can now crack eggs and a wee boy was in tears because it was time to go home. We must be getting something right!

Monday 7th Nov - 9 kids and a couple of older girls had a ball making pancakes. Brilliant to see them sharing the tasks then enjoying what they had made. Also got the Wii - a donation from one of the villagers - set up and they all had a shot on that.

17th January 2012 - This is the latest option being considered to replace the play equipment in the park at Wellwood which was removed for safety reasons.  Councillor McCulloch has identified a fund to which we can apply to cover the costs.  We hope we can continue to work in partnership to make this happen for the young people.

We have also been successful in our recent funding application to help cover the costs of signage - we hope to have the sign up soon (see artist’s impression, right).

The grant will also cover the cost of installing internet access which will be available to the whole community. As we continue to move towards online applications for benefits, etc., we anticipate that this will be a welcome help to many.
