The Guild
The Church of Scotland Guild was founded in 1887 by Archibald Charteris in order to enable women to use their spiritual gifts and practical talents irrespective of their walk of life.  The Guild’s aim is to invite and encourage people to commit their lives to Jesus Christ in worship, prayer and action.  The motto of the Guild (from Acts 27:23) is  “Whose we are and Whom we serve”.
Today there are over 40,000 people, both men and women, who belong to the Guild, and it is one of Scotland’s largest voluntary organisations.
The Guild meets fortnightly on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month in Gillespie Church Hall at 7.30 pm.  The Convenor is Alison Muir, Secretary Pat McGeechan (737535) and the Treasurer is Betty Morrison.

This year’s theme is "....to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God”  [Micah 6:8].
The theme, followed by all the Church of Scotland Guild branches, covers 3 years and  provides the basis for their worship, study, and action,  including fund-raising for related  projects at home and abroad.

This is the 3rd year of the current cycle and up to August, at the national level, the Guild has raised:
