Gillespie Memorial Church provides a monthly worship service to the residents at Newlands Residential Home on the 3rd Friday of every month, starting at 2:30 pm and lasting 30-45 minutes.

The service consists of opening and closing prayers, a bible reading, a short message, hymns and a time of fellowship.  We also invite residents to come to our Seniors’ Communion Services, with afternoon tea and fellowship, which the Ministry Team arranges from time to time.

The Newlands Worship Team currently has eight active members and all participate in providing the service according to their individual gifts.  This is a very rewarding ministry and very much appreciated by the staff and residents at Newlands, with whom we have developed a special relationship.

We would be pleased to be contacted by anyone who would like to share in this ministry, on either a regular or an occasional basis.  We are also open to people from other congregations joining the team, and would also welcome your support in prayer.  Please consider using your gifts to contribute to this ministry.
