Gillespie Church took part in Doors Open Day for the first time this year (2011).  We were one of the 18 buildings in Dunfermline open for “behind the scenes” tours, giving us an ideal opportunity to share the Gillespie Journey (so far) to members of the public.  

Thanks go to the volunteers from other churches involved in Your Oasis, Healing Rooms and Street Pastors initiatives who helped share the story.

We were also joined by Lorraine Bell of Dunfermline Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS), who, along with Historic Scotland, have generously supported the £480,000 restoration of the church building.  The completion of works now enables us to turn our attention on the next phase of realising our plans to give a new lease of life to the Gillespie Centre.
