Focus on the Community
Background
Gillespie Memorial Church has been in existence since 1752. Its formation came as
a result of a desire to focus on delivering ‘relief’ to the poor in the environs
of Dunfermline. The current building has been in existence for over 150 years, and
it has recently benefited from an extensive external refurbishment supported by funding
from the CARS Scheme, along with other independent grant-making bodies and our own
congregation’s donations.
Our passion for providing ‘relief’ to those suffering through poverty of opportunity
is no less today. The issues may be different but the passion lives on.
